Weld County, CO, 7/08/2025 – Connections is proud to welcome Jessica Miller as the Director of Programs and Services. Jessica brings over 20 years of experience in case management and education to her new role at Connections for Independent Living. She has a degree in English Education from the University of Northern Colorado and is currently pursuing graduate studies in Family and Community Services at Michigan State University. Jessica is a lifelong learner dedicated to serving individuals and families within the disability community.
Her background spans classrooms, home visits, and community spaces, where she has worked as an educator, advocate, and leader. Rochelle Mitchell, CEO of Connections, states, “Connections and the people all over the northern plains that we serve are fortunate to gain an ally of Jessica Miller’s caliber. She is a consummate leader in disability advocacy and the IL philosophy. Jessica has a great deal of expertise to share as we continue the work of advocacy and disability rights for all.”
Jessica is also a proud parent, an amateur backyard chicken keeper, and someone who finds peace in nature, whether walking mountain trails or enjoying the open skies of the Colorado prairie.
Connections for Independent Living is a non-residential, participant-controlled nonprofit Independent Living Center that promotes independent living and the empowerment of all persons with disabilities. The organization is one of nine certified Independent Living Centers throughout Colorado and, since 1985, has specifically served individuals in seven northeastern counties.

Jessica has more than 20 years of experience helping people through education and support services. She studied English Education at the University of Northern Colorado and is now studying Family and Community Services at Michigan State University.
Jessica loves learning and is committed to helping people with disabilities and their families. She has worked in schools, homes, and communities as a teacher, helper, and leader.
Rochelle Mitchell, the CEO of Connections, said, “We’re lucky to have someone as skilled and caring as Jessica join us. She’s a strong leader in disability support and rights, and she brings a lot of knowledge to our team.”
Outside of work, Jessica is a proud mom. She also raises chickens as a hobby and enjoys spending time in nature, whether hiking in the mountains or looking at the wide skies of Colorado.
