Weld County, CO, December 1, 2021 – Recognizing the critical need for equitable access to COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccines for northeastern Coloradans who live with disabling conditions, Connections is hosting a Colorado Vaccine Bus Tour this December.
With stops in Greeley, Haxtun, Wray, and Yuma beginning December 20, the Colorado Vaccine Bus Tour provides vaccines at no cost. All Coloradans age 5 and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, be it their first or second shot, or a booster. Health insurance is not required.
Connections is partnering with North Colorado Community Health and Sunrise Community Health to bring the bus to these northeastern Colorado communities. The bus will be in the community from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., with no reservations required.
“Providing equal access to all areas of the community is what Connections is all about,” said Connections CEO and Executive Director Rochelle Mitchell-Miller. “We are glad to be partnering with these great agencies to be able to assist with all types of disability access for the vaccine bus. No one who is looking to get a vaccine/booster, should have to deal with any other barriers than just getting vaccinated.”
At all clinics, an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be available to provide interpreting at no charge to individuals who are Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, or Deaf/Blind with no appointment or prior arrangements.
Persons who live with disabling conditions can receive a $25.00 gift card upon their COVID-19 vaccination/booster and completion of a short, anonymous survey by a Connections team member.
