Weld County, CO, 4/16/2024 – Norma Barrandey joined the Connections for Independence Center board at the start of 2024. She currently works at Stifel, as an investment advisor. She began her investment industry career in 2005. She’s also a professor of economic studies at University of Northern Colorado.
Along with volunteering with Connections’ board of directors, Norma is active in our community. Since 2018, she has been serving as part of the investment committee for the Community Foundation of Greeley and Weld County. She also volunteers for different events such as Habitat for Humanity.
Norma was eager to join the board as she was passionate about the vision and mission of advocating and providing programs and services to people with disabilities throughout northern Colorado. “I believe my skills align well with contributing to its success.” The board is excited to have Norma involved to discuss issues of importance with our organization and our community and to plan for Connections’ exciting future.

Connections for Independent Living is a non-residential, participant-controlled nonprofit Independent Living Center that promotes independent living and the empowerment of all persons with disabilities. The organization is one of nine certified Independent Living Centers throughout Colorado and since 1986 has specifically served individuals in seven northeastern counties.
