Weld County, CO, August 1, 2023 – Connections for Independent Living has embarked on a project to provide feedback to the State Office of Future Work to inform the Colorado State Digital Equity Plan. We are seeking feedback from any resident who lives with disabilities regarding their access to broadband, devices, and educational support regarding technology. With over $800 million being put into this planning and implementation, it is imperative that people with disabilities in our region give their voice to shape where the money will be focused.

Connections’ goal is to complete 25 surveys. This survey is welcome to everyone whether you are a consumer or not. You must be a person with a disability. Connections understands that there are significant gaps to access.

The Greeley office will have an invitation only focus group happening on August 30 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. which will provide lunch and a decent grocery gift card to each participant that attends. The session will be capped at 35 people. If you would like to attend, you must RSVP for your spot.

Connections will also hold a focus group in Fort Morgan with more information forthcoming.

The input collected will enable an inclusive plan to ensure equitable, reliable, and affordable internet, device access, digital skills training and cybersecurity awareness for all Coloradans. We need the representation from northern and northeastern Colorado. Other organizations are also welcome to participate in the Digital Equity Ecosystem Map (DEEM).

Connections for Independent Living is a non-residential, participant-controlled nonprofit Independent Living Center that promotes independent living and the empowerment of all persons with disabilities. The organization is one of nine certified Independent Living Centers throughout Colorado and since 1986 has specifically served individuals in seven northeastern counties.
