Connections Hosting Governor Jared Polis Colorado Vaccines for All Clinic April 9

Weld County, CO, April 1, 2021 – Connections for Independent Living is hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in partnership with Governor Jared Polis’ Colorado Vaccines for All plan on Friday, April 9. The clinic, hosted at Connections’ offices at 1331 8th Avenue in Greeley, will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. You must have an appointment to attend.

Connections was selected as a vaccine equity clinic site as a part of Governor Polis’ efforts to ensure that every person in Colorado has access to the vaccine, no matter who they are, or where they live. At this clinic, priority will be given to persons who live with disabling conditions within Connections’ seven-county northeastern Colorado service region.

“Since we began distributing vaccines to communities across our state, we have made a concerted effort to do so in a way that is equitable, saves the most lives, and ends the immediate public health crisis as quickly as possible,” said Governor Jared Polis. “With each vaccine administered we take another step toward getting back to life as we knew it. I want to thank community organizations across our state for their partnership in ensuring that every person who wants a vaccine, can get one.”

“Since the rollout of vaccines began, those living with disabilities were slowly left behind,” said Joshua Fulenwider, Connections’ Director of Independent Living Services. “Many lacked the technical knowledge, mental capacity, or physical ability to navigate the myriad of websites and call centers necessary to get a place in line for a vaccine. With the Governor’s Colorado Vaccines for All initiative, Connections for Independent Living will make great progress in ensuring they are not forgotten.”

Vaccinations at the April 9 clinic are provided at no cost. There is no obligation to become a registered consumer with Connections through participation. The recipient must be able to attend a second clinic on Friday, May 7, also hosted at the Connections offices in Greeley. Vaccine availability is limited.

For information about the clinic and to for a potential position on the vaccination list, contact Connections by telephone at (970) 352-8682. Although the deadline for registration for the clinic was noon, Friday, April 2, a limited number of registrations are still possible though Monday, April 5. The clinic is hosted in conjunction with the regularly-scheduled Connections Cares session, hosted each Friday to provide valued services and assistance to persons who live with disabilities.
